Find the right upgrade.

Start with what you already own and what you want to do. These checklists help you compare gadgets, accessories and CCTV without guessing about compatibility.

Which charger and cable work with my device?

Match the connector, charging protocol and power requirements of your device with both the charger and cable. A USB-C connector alone does not tell you the charging speed, data-transfer speed or display capabilities.

  • Check your exact phone, tablet or laptop model and its supported charging protocol.
  • Compare the charger’s output per port. With several devices connected, power may be shared; check the manufacturer’s stated limits.
  • Check the cable’s power and data ratings separately. Do not assume every USB-C cable supports video or fast data transfer.
  • For a power bank, compare output ports, charging support, size and the manufacturer’s stated capacity and energy rating.

USB Power Delivery is a separate capability from USB-C; manufacturers must specify which features a product supports. USB-IF connector and capability guidance.

How do I choose earbuds, headphones or a speaker?

Choose for your daily use: calls, commuting, desk work or listening at home. Compare microphone features, fit, controls, battery figures and the devices you will connect.

  • Read battery figures carefully: listening time for earbuds and total time with the case are different measurements.
  • For calls, look for microphone information and supported call features rather than relying on the Bluetooth version alone.
  • Check the exact water-resistance rating and the manufacturer’s conditions before choosing equipment for outdoor use.
  • Check both devices for audio-feature compatibility. LE Audio requires compatible source and listening devices; a version label alone is insufficient.

See the Bluetooth SIG compatibility FAQ for the distinction between Classic Audio and LE Audio.

What should I check before buying an accessory or gadget?

Write down your device model, operating system, available ports and the task you need to solve. This makes it easier to compare a hub, adapter, phone case, keyboard or connected device.

  • Cases and screen protectors need an exact model match, including camera placement and dimensions.
  • For a hub or adapter, check the host port’s capabilities and the resolution, refresh rate or data speed you need.
  • For smart-home products, check app availability, supported Wi-Fi bands, hub requirements and any ongoing subscriptions.
  • Compare the listed warranty and return terms, and ask about any missing specifications before ordering.

A familiar connector or brand name is a starting point, not a guarantee that two devices work together. Product-specific documentation should decide the final match.

What matters when choosing CCTV for a home or business?

Start with the scene and the detail you need to capture. Compare coverage, lighting, mounting position, power, connection and recording arrangements before choosing by resolution alone.

  • Identify the entrances or areas you need to see and whether the camera will be indoors or outdoors.
  • Check the manufacturer’s weather rating, night-viewing specification and power requirements.
  • Confirm recorder compatibility, supported storage and whether viewing or recording needs a subscription.
  • Plan storage for camera count, bitrate and recording duration. Scene activity and compression settings affect the actual result.

Axis explains how bitrate and compression affect recording quality and storage. Check the documentation for the particular camera and recorder you are considering.
